The group known as The Betrothed functions as a covert organization under the direction of Doctor Donald Maritus. The not-so-good doctor runs the seeminly legitimate Imperium Mind Clinic where he poses as a psychiatrist - luring out the mentally unstable and vulnerable under the guise of offering them help for their problems. Having sold his soul to a dark demoness, there is more to the vile doctor than meets the eye. He was giving supernatural powers as part of the bargain - which he uses to subdue those he recruits into doing his every bidding. Motivated by lust for power and greed, he lets nothing stand in his way. With the exception of a rare few who were recruited to be the muscle of the organization, most of his underlings are females, whom he uses in any way he can.
